FLAMENCO I:
A 1-hour class incorporating Zapateado and castanet work. Slow paced, thorough. Beginner level (it is recommended to have studied Mexican Folkloric for one year first).
Required Attire: Black long-sleeved leotard, tights, practice skirt, castanets, ballet shoes, and black Flamenco shoes. Hair secured in bun or ponytail.
Performance requirements: $30.00 costume rental, tan fishnet tights, beige “basic” camisole, earrings, (gold hoop).
Ages: 5-7
FLAMENCO II:
A 1-hour class strengthening Zapateado, munecas, and castanet work. Medium paced intermediate level (at least one year Flamenco or Folkloric dance).
Required Attire: Attire: Black long-sleeved leotard, tights, practice skirt, castanets, and ballet shoes, black Flamenco shoes. Hair secured in bun or ponytail.
Performance requirements: $30.00 costume rental, tan fishnet tights, beige “basic” camisole, earrings, (gold hoop). (Ballet I or II is strongly recommended in conjunction with this class.)
Ages: 8-10
FLAMENCO III, IV, V:
A 1-hour class strengthening Zapateado, munecas, palmas, shawl, fan and castanet work. Improvisation. Medium to fast paced. Intermediate and Advanced levels (at least two years Flamenco).
Required Attire: Black long-sleeved leotard, tights, practice skirt, castanets, fan, shawl, ballet shoes, and black Flamenco shoes. Hair secured in bun or ponytail. Performance requirements: $30.00 costume rental, tan fishnet tights, beige “basic” camisole, earrings, (gold hoop). (Ballet II, III or IV is strongly recommended in conjunction with these classes.)
Ages: 11-up
ADULTS FLAMENCO:
Technique class- 1 hour class in zapateado, munecas, palmas, shawl, fan and castanet work. Improvisation and choreography.
Required Attire: Black long-sleeved leotard, tights, practice skirt, castanets, fan, shawl, ballet shoes, and black Flamenco shoes. Hair secured in bun or ponytail.
